Things to do in winter
in Val Gardena

Winter in Val Gardena is a paradise for those who love sports and activities in the snow.

Spending a winter holiday in Val Gardena means being in the heart of an authentic paradise for those who love sports and activities in the snow. At this time of year, the landscape glistens with the whiteness of the snow and all around the air sparkles with the reflections of the sun illuminating the ice. Dusted with white and caressed by the ski slopes, the peaks of the Dolomites are even more captivating.

Dolomites Hotel Monte Pana, at the foot of the Sassolungo massif, is the perfect accommodation for those who want to discover all that Val Gardena has to offer in winter.

From the hotel’s ski room (where you can leave your skis with peace of mind and place your boots on the special wall with heated supports), it is only a few metres – easily covered on skis – to reach the ski lifts that go up towards the Mont de Seura. From here, you can soon reach the Dolomiti Superski area, which connects 12 ski resorts. By following it, you can cross the entire valley on skis and reach the surrounding ones too, without ever skiing on the same trail twice.

Some simpler slopes are especially for children and beginners, right in front of the hotel. In front of the terrace there is also a dedicated area where the little ones can have fun in peace and safety. For those wishing to take ski lessons, a renowned local school has a counter right inside the hotel.

And if you prefer cross-country to downhill, some loops start near the hotel and wind through the surrounding woods. A landscape greatly prized by those who, even in winter, prefer the quiet and tranquillity of the snowy woods to the excitement of the slopes.

Quiet and tranquillity that can also be enjoyed while walking with snowshoes. There are many paths to choose from. They are all highly evocative and immersed in the enchanting nature of the Dolomites, made even more captivating by the snow.

But the magic of winter in Val Gardena is not confined to the slopes and paths. During Advent, the villages of the valley vibrate with the magical atmosphere of the Christmas markets. An ancient tradition that delights the five senses.

Winter in Val Gardena has a very special charm.
